The story of us: Sister Bond
Scosha met Emmanuelle Blanc eight months ago during one of the darkest times that changed my life. Her guidance was instrumental in transforming the most challenging parts of my journey.
Scosha, based in New York for the last 20 years, has been building a business and raising two kids. You may know her from SCOSHA, the eclectic and colorful fine jewelry design brand I started 17 years ago.
During a business trip in Australia, a mutual friend connected us and suggested I meet Emmanuelle on my way back to New York. I needed tools and rituals to face what awaited me in NYC.
Landing in Bali initiated my healing process. This journey involved a deep dive into my brokenness, leading to breakthroughs where I began to understand my behavior and its effects. I learned the importance of self-worth, letting go of past burdens, healing my inner child, reframing my language, and shedding layers of old patterns to adopt newer, healthier beliefs and cultivate self-love.
Emmanuelle, an accomplished author, photographer, and entrepreneur with extensive experience in India, guided me through profound changes. Our bond was extraordinary, a sisterhood like no other. We founded Shama Productions on Mother’s Day and committed to our dream project by Father’s Day.
The Meaning of Shama
Shama, a word with profound resonance, carries meanings that touch the soul.
It signifies a beauty spot, enhancing one’s allure, translates to a candle, symbolizing light and guidance, and refers to a bird whose melody soothes the spirit.
Shama embodies forgiveness, equanimity, and profound peace of mind, reflecting the serene control of the mind achieved through meditation, worship, and rhythmic chanting of mantras.
It is a journey inward, where calmness reigns, and the heart finds its true, tranquil home.
Shamashama is a special greeting, expressing gratitude, understanding, and reverence.
It’s a way to deeply acknowledge presence and spirit, sharing this heartfelt connection and respect with others.
Scosha
Scosha, a multifaceted designer, creative director, and entrepreneur, left Australia in 2000 for a four-year backpacking journey across many parts of the world. Passing through New York on her way to Africa, she established a business. I've been based in New York for the last 20 years, building a business and raising two kids.
You may know her from SCOSHA, the eclectic and colorful fine jewelry design brand she started here 17 years ago. SCOSHA, her flagship store in Brooklyn, has reached a global audience. She has been featured in top fashion magazines and was selected as one of the top ten finalists in the Vogue Fashion Fund, the only jeweler in that category. Her passion for decorative interior and exterior design has enabled her to expand her playful storytelling style into residential and commercial projects.
Her creative vision stems from a burning desire to fuse and communicate a common thread witnessed through many countries she explores. She uses jewelry as a means of self-expression, embracing nostalgia and universal design, promoting deep connection, practical wearability, and a diverse mix of multimedia materials for her spatial concepts that create multiform functional atmospheres.
Regardless of economic situation or birthplace, she noticed that people worldwide celebrate an eclectic personal style of tradition, masking the suffering of human emotions around the identity of love and self-worth. Her mantra, “something for everyone,” envisions a humbling dinner party for the world, where anyone is welcome to join, break bread, and feel fully embraced.
